Chrysthanum stamped where the arsenal mark should be. It is a deep stamp and there is no arsenal mark. It is a trainer. This came with a 7.7 Arisaka which was bored to .30 cal. And issued to Korean troops just after WW-II. The scabbard is painted green and has hooks for the U.S. web belt attached.

Japanese bayonet, tp.: pole, extended tang Jinsen arsenal only know Jinsen arsenal extended tang pole bayonet flat side blackened blade. 15-3/4" long. Rectangle guard, painted flat black. 3" x 31/32"

Wood handle 3-7/16" x 7/8"

Tang length above guard: 4-3/16"

Tang extension length 3/4" w/ appx. 3/8" hole drilled into it.

Marked on top of tang: 8 * 711 3-circles - interwoven and - scabbard type is also previously unknown. Closest example is Johnson's JBS 26. Similarities are: 2-piece split bamboo, varnished with brown stain.

16-5/8" oal. Exceptions are: larger string wrapped in 2-places. Bottom end has 3/8" black painted metal band with fixed oval loop, pinned to wood scabbard. Top end has 3/4" black painted metal band with movable round loop, also pinned to wood scabbard. No marking found on scabbard.

According to known info, Jinsen did not make an extended tang pole bayonet. This is the 1st discovery of one or that they did.

The scabbard is also a first. Only known one with hangers to carry behind the shoulders
