There are also examples recorded of serials such as 345gg on blade and 344hh on the scabbard these are more than single items and are "accepted variations"

In 1944 "can" marked scabbards (marked on the frog stud side) were used by asw and fnj

asw have with their own stamps marked on the more normal rear face and serials marked over the "can" mark which were often partially or fully removed

fnj have the CAN mark on the rear face and can often be found with the CAN marking not removed and no fnj marking

"bym" do not follow the normal xxxx over aa stamped serial number but use a xxxxx over xxxx system instead
